Meet Nyaboke Omara, a passionate entrepreneur in her mid-30s, who turned her love for interior décor into a thriving business, Mon Palais Chic by K.
With a French name that translates to 'My classy palace by K', Nyaboke's business is a reflection of her creativity and dedication to her craft. Her daughter, K, is the inspiration behind the name, and Nyaboke's passion for interior décor began as a hobby that soon became an obsession.
As she shared in an interview, 'I was always changing my house setup; surely, one house could not handle all the pressure.' Nyaboke's solution was to channel her energy into a business, and Mon Palais Chic by K was born.
However, Nyaboke soon realized that she needed to be serious about marketing her business, and she had to 'talk to strangers' to reach a wider audience. With the help of Tonny Ichangai's advice, 'No one cares about you until you win', Nyaboke was able to take her business to the next level.
As a business owner, Nyaboke's day starts late, but she finds inspiration in the quiet hours of the night. She reviews customer orders, finds new ideas for renovation, and writes a schedule for the next day's deliveries. Her employees play a crucial role in her business, and she values their feedback and input.
One of the most rewarding experiences for Nyaboke was when a client, who couldn't afford to pay, asked her to decorate her home. Nyaboke's kindness and generosity inspired the client, and soon, she received a huge project to decorate an expatriate's house. This experience taught her that 'what we do for others remains immortal', and she strives to make a positive impact in her community.
When she's not working, Nyaboke enjoys watching movies or television series, and she's always open to new experiences. Her goal for the next five years is to set up a learning facility for home décor services, and she's determined to make it happen.
