Published on May 5, 2020, Kenya Airways has offered lower ticket prices for Kenyans stranded in London, Mumbai, and Guangzhou.

The airline has chartered planes to fly back hundreds of Kenyans, with the first flight scheduled to arrive at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) on May 4.

Passengers from London will pay Sh53,495 ($500) for a one-way ticket, which is Sh5,000 cheaper than the normal commercial rate of Sh58,215 ($580).

Those stranded in Mumbai and Guangzhou will pay Sh46,005 ($430) and Sh80,242 ($750) for a one-way ticket, respectively.

Kenya Airways declined to disclose the departure times of the flights, citing security concerns.

The airline's decision comes two weeks after it charged expatriates in Kenya up to three times the normal ticket price to return to their home countries on a chartered flight.
