As the world grapples with the Covid-19 pandemic, it has become clear that a coordinated response is crucial to containing the spread of the virus.

Published on May 4, 2020, the situation has pushed authorities and organizations to come up with innovative ways to tackle the pandemic, but it also calls for proper coordination.

While the 47 counties have witnessed a laudable response, with governors at the forefront of implementing Ministry of Health guidelines, some have been overzealous in their efforts, trying to exercise powers they do not possess.

Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i has intervened, cautioning governors against importing infections into their areas and clarifying that the decision to restrict movement can only be made by the National Security Council.

It is essential to properly coordinate these efforts and strengthen the national onslaught against the Covid-19 menace.
