On April 28, 2020, Health CAS Dr Rashid Amin announced that 11 more people had tested positive for coronavirus in the last 24 hours in Kenya, raising the total number to 374.

Among the new cases, two were children aged two years, while the oldest was 75 years old.

The distribution of the new cases among counties showed that seven were from Nairobi and four from Mombasa.

Dr Amin noted that the four Nairobi cases were from Kawangware, Eastleigh, Mangi estate, and Kaloleni estates, while all four Mombasa cases were from Kibokoni, old town.

Residents of these areas were warned to take extra caution to avoid contracting the virus.

Dr Amin observed that the trend of positive cases had now been restricted to Nairobi and Mombasa, indicating local transmission in these two counties.
