Published on April 28, 2020, Liquid Telecom has been instrumental in digitally transforming East Africa Community (EAC) member states, including Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi, and South Sudan, with superior connectivity and digital solutions.
Despite the challenges posed by the Coronavirus pandemic, Liquid Telecom's enhanced connectivity and collaboration tools have enabled EAC members to maintain close to normal operations, delivering on their promise of regional integration.
Following a 'Joint Ministerial COVID-19 Preparedness and Response' meeting, EAC member states were instructed to suspend face-to-face meetings and switch to modern technology. Liquid Telecom's Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) across a closed wide area network supports the EAC's dedicated Video Conferencing (VC) system.
With a Wide Area Network (WAN) already established in 2019 across the region, Liquid Telecom's high-capacity fibre network enables network traffic to flow via the shortest path between each state.
“COVID-19 has forced us all to rethink our daily lives and how we work, and Africa is no exception. Supporting all of our customers and especially the EAC at this critical time is a priority for Liquid Telecom,” said Adil Youssefi, CEO Liquid Telecom East Africa Region.
Eng. Murenzi Daniel, Principal Information Technology Officer, East African Community, added, “Business continuity is critical at the East African Community as member states continue to engage in regional matters. Even amid COVID-19, key decisions still need to be made. And Liquid Telecom has enabled us to stay on top of things.”
Virtual Workplace by Liquid Telecom supports home and remote working with Microsoft Teams collaboration tool, providing video conferencing and full online access to Office 365.
