Published on April 28, 2020, Emmanuel Adebayor, a former Arsenal, Manchester City, Real Madrid, and Tottenham forward, has faced online backlash from football fans after stating he won't donate to Togo's fight against COVID-19.

According to reports, Adebayor, who is currently in quarantine in Benin, has a net worth of $45 million, as per Celebrity Net Worth.

When asked about his decision not to donate, Adebayor stated, 'I always do things according to the wishes of my heart and not according to the words of others.'

He further added, 'I'm sorry that people compare me to Samuel Eto'o and Didier Drogba by asking me why I don't have a foundation or why I don't donate, as if I was the one who brought the coronavirus to Togo.'

Adebayor, who played for Arsenal, Tottenham, and Crystal Palace during his decade-long stay in the English Premier League, made a surprise move to Paraguayan champion Olimpia in February.
