As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to affect the Kenyan workforce, the National Employment Authority has issued a directive to employers to inform the government of any job terminations.

According to a gazette notice, employers are required to submit returns on termination to the National Employment Authority through the National Employment Authority Integrated Management System within two weeks of the dismissal.

The move aims to enable the government to develop strategies to mitigate the impact of COVID-19 on the labor and employment sector, as revealed by the Authority's Director-General Edith Okoki.

“Hard-copy or email returns will not be accepted and employers are supposed to file returns on the National Employment Authority Integrated Management System at www.nealms.go.ke,” she said.
