On April 27, 2020, Jambojet announced the appointment of Karanja Ndegwa as its acting managing director, taking over from Allan Kilavuka who left the airline to join Kenya Airways on April 1, 2020.
According to Jambojet chairman Vincent Rague, Ndegwa's appointment will be effective from May 1, 2020, until the board fills up the position on a permanent basis.
Ndegwa, who has been instrumental in Jambojet's growth, has over 20 years of experience in the aviation industry, including 12 years in senior positions. He has been Jambojet's chief financial officer since 2016 and has played a key role in setting up the airline's finance structure.
Before joining Jambojet in 2014, Ndegwa worked at Kenya Airways in different roles, rising to manager - revenue accounting. He is a graduate of Economics and Statistics from the University of Nairobi and a Certified Public Accountant.
Mr. Rague expressed gratitude to Ndegwa for accepting the new role while continuing to serve as the Chief Financial Officer. He also thanked Kilavuka for his dedication and service to Jambojet.
