TV presenter Betty Kyallo has shared good news about her daughter Ivanna's health, who has fully recovered from acute disseminated encephalomyelitis (ADEM), a rare autoimmune disease she suffered from since 2019.

According to Betty, Ivanna was hospitalized in the ICU for a month and was on life support due to the disease, which caused her to stop walking, talking, and eating, and eventually led to a deep coma.

Betty expressed her gratitude to health workers, particularly Nurse Judy from Nairobi Hospital, who took care of Ivanna for four months and continued to visit her at home even after she was discharged.

“NURSE JUDY who loved Ivanna so much she would come to see her even on her off days. She treated Ivanna like her own baby and was so supportive to me as a mother going through hell. Even after we left Hospital she continued coming home to visit Ivanna and following her progress,” Betty said.

Betty also thanked all the health workers at Nairobi Hospital for their unwavering efforts and sacrifice in taking care of Ivanna during her illness.

Her messages come at a time when the world is appreciating health workers as they continue to fight the coronavirus pandemic that has claimed the lives of over 197,000 people globally.
