As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to spread, Kenya is intensifying its efforts to contain the virus, with the country's Command Center on the Coronavirus Pandemic focusing on hotspots in Mombasa, Kwale, and Kilifi counties.

Interior Minister Fred Matiangi has confirmed that the government is reviewing the effectiveness of its safety measures, which include a 21-day lockdown in Mandera County that began on Wednesday night.

The lockdown is a response to the increasing number of COVID-19 cases in the county, with the government seeking to restrict road travel and flights in and out of the country to prevent further spread of the virus.

President Uhuru Kenyatta has revealed that law enforcement is trying to locate dozens of people who escaped from a quarantine facility in Nairobi, highlighting the need for strict adherence to safety measures.

Kenya has confirmed 320 COVID-19 infections and 14 deaths, with the government urging citizens to comply with the safety protocols in place to prevent the spread of the virus.
