On April 23, 2020, the post-mortem examination of Beloved John Apewajoye, the husband of gospel singer Ruth Matete, revealed that he died from multiple body organ failure.
According to Chief Government Pathologist Johansen Oduor, the cause of death was burns sustained by Beloved John on April 11, 2020, at his home in Wall Gardens Estate, Athi River.
Beloved John, a Nigerian artiste and pastor, was two months pregnant at the time of his death, which was confirmed by his wife, Ruth Matete, on social media.
She stated that her husband died while undergoing treatment for burns at a Nairobi-based health facility.
"The burns led to multiple body organs failure, which led to his death," the pathologist said.
Ruth Matete had previously shared a heartfelt message on Facebook, asking for prayers during the difficult time.
