On April 23, 2020, Sarova Hotels and Resorts Company made a generous donation to support frontline healthcare workers at Kenyatta National Hospital and Mbagathi Hospital in the fight against the Coronavirus Pandemic.

The hotel group's initiative, which will run for 30 days, aims to provide daily lunches to more than 200 healthcare workers who are providing critical services to patients at the facilities.

According to Sarova Hotels and Resorts Managing Director Jimi Kariuki, the move is a gesture to recognize the bravery and commitment of the medical workers who have put their lives on the line to lead the war on the virus.

"As a Kenyan company, we will continue working with the government to lend our support in the fight against this deadly virus from all approaches," said Mr. Kariuki.

He added, "It is indeed a trying time for humanity, and at the end, we must all work together to flatten the curve."

Mr. Kariuki also encouraged Kenyans to adhere to the guidelines issued by The Ministry of Health to help overcome the virus.

At Kenyatta National Hospital, Chief Executive Officer Dr. Evanson Kamuri expressed gratitude to Sarova Hotels for the kind gesture, saying, "Feeding frontline healthcare workers is a direct pat on the back that will boost their morale and make them feel appreciated."
