On April 23, 2020, Kenya's Ministry of Health reported a significant spike in COVID-19 cases, with Mombasa registering the highest single-day increase at 12 out of 17 cases in 24 hours.
Out of 668 samples tested, 478 were from Nairobi, highlighting the city's continued struggle with the pandemic.
Health Chief Administrative Secretary Mercy Mwangangi announced that six patients had recovered from the virus, bringing the total number of recoveries to 89.
