On April 23, 2020, the music world witnessed a remarkable turn of events as the 'Toosie Slide' challenge, created by Drake, took the top spot on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

However, just as quickly as it rose to fame, the challenge was overtaken by The Weeknd's 'Blinding Lights,' leaving Drake at number two.

But what's truly remarkable is the impact the challenge had on a group of Ugandan orphans known as the Masaka Kids Africana.

According to TMZ, the group's founder, Suuna Hassan, revealed that the children had fallen in love with the track and decided to take up the challenge in the hopes of getting Drake's attention.

And get his attention they did. Drake directly messaged the group's Instagram account and asked them to send over their video, which he then shared with his 65.7 million followers.

The group's Instagram account saw a significant surge in followers, and in a heartwarming turn of events, Drake announced that he had received an enormous amount of money from donors who wanted to help the kids.

But who are these talented young dancers? Here are a few key facts about the Masaka Kids Africana:

  • They are all orphans from Uganda.
  • They use their musical talents to raise money to help them get by.
  • Their youngest member is just two years old.
  • They train regularly to improve their skills.
  • They rely solely on donations to survive.
