On April 23, 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic had taken a toll on families in Taita Taveta county. In response, a committee formed by Governor Granton Samboja called upon the community to provide aid to those affected.
Various donors in the county heeded the call, offering food to families in need. The efforts were documented in a video shared on YouTube.
