As the world grapples with the COVID-19 pandemic, a couple in India has chosen a unique name for their newborn child - Sanitiser.
According to Kidspot, the parents, from Saharanpur in India, decided to name their child Sanitiser as a reminder of the safety measures being taken to combat the virus.
"Whenever people will talk of corona, they will remember that it was sanitiser that saved them," said dad Omvir Singh.
The couple's decision to name their child Sanitiser is not the first instance of parents giving their child a name associated with the pandemic. In March 2020, a mum in Chhattisgarh, central India, gave birth to twins named 'Corona' and 'Covid'.
While the couple's intention behind naming their child Sanitiser is to contribute to the fight against the virus, they also acknowledge that the name may change as their child grows up.
