On April 22, 2020, Kenya's Health Cabinet Secretary, Mutahi Kagwe, announced that the country had confirmed 7 new cases of Covid-19, bringing the total number of infections to 303.
According to Kagwe, the government has launched a mass testing initiative targeting high-risk areas, including healthcare workers. To support this effort, 25,000 testing kits have been deployed.
The government aims to test 250,000 individuals between now and June as part of its efforts to contain the spread of the virus.
