On Tuesday, Interior Chief Administrative Secretary Hussein Dhadho visited Busia One-Stop-Border Post, where he warned government officers against misusing essential services and government resources.
Speaking to the press, Dhadho noted that some officers were misusing the privilege and government resources even while not on duty.
He advised Kenyans to use the curfew and lockdown period to bond with their families, adding that some parents had been delegating their responsibilities to house helps.
‘With the tendency of people picking items, checking and returning them to the shelves, the virus can spread easily,’ Dhadho said, urging Kenyans to use hand gloves while shopping or wash their hands immediately after shopping.
Transport CAS Chris Obure assured Malaba residents that the Ministry would fast-track the completion of ongoing construction works at the border.
He also announced that the Ministry would set aside funds for establishing a dual carriage at Busia One Stop Border Post.
Health CAS Dr. Rashid Aman urged County and National Government officers to work together to contain the coronavirus pandemic.
Busia Governor Sospeter Ojaamong and County Commissioner Joseph Kanyiri echoed the sentiments, urging concerted efforts between the County and National government to address the challenge of truck drivers.
