On April 1, President Uhuru Kenyatta launched the Kenya COVID-19 Emergency Response Project to combat the spread and impact of the virus. The project's primary objective is to mobilize resources for an emergency response to contain the spread, effects, and impact of the pandemic.

As of now, the fund has raised Sh917,768,950 in cash, Sh370,300,000 worth of food and non-food items, bringing the total contribution to Sh1,288,068,950. Credit Bank's Sh3 million donation is a significant addition to this effort.

"The COVID-19 pandemic is primarily a health crisis and a human tragedy, but it also has far-reaching economic disruptions," said Credit Bank CEO Betty Korir. "It is already disrupting millions of people's livelihoods, impacting on households and small and informal businesses. Credit Bank is glad to be part of the private sector and development institutions that are expanding efforts to safeguard economies, livelihoods, and health needs across Kenya."

As part of its efforts to support the government's response to the pandemic, Credit Bank has also launched a Clearing Solution for its corporate clients. This solution enables clients to bank cheques at their premises, meeting their banking needs on-demand.

Additionally, Credit Bank has urged its clients to observe social distancing and sanitization in all their branches and has offered digital platform solutions to continue transacting while observing social distancing and supporting the fight against the pandemic.
