Kenyan Media Houses Donate Sh150 Million to Covid-19 Fund

On April 21, 2020, the Kenyan media industry came together to support the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic by donating Sh150 million to the Covid-19 Emergency Response Fund.

Media Owners Association chairman Wachira Waruru announced that 15 member media houses had agreed to donate advertising space and airtime worth Sh10 million each.

The contribution will be used to support the government's efforts in containing the spread, effects, and impact of the pandemic.

According to Waruru, the donation will be carried across various media platforms, including newspapers, radio, TV, and digital platforms.

Waruru also highlighted the role of Kenyan media in reporting on Covid-19 and driving awareness campaigns to curb the spread of the pandemic.

The 15 media houses involved in the donation include Nation Media Group, Capital Group Limited, Ebru Africa Limited, and several others.
