Controversy Surrounds Pastor Belovedjohn's Demise ¶
April 11th, 2020, marked a tragic end to Pastor Belovedjohn Apewajoye's life, following a gas explosion accident. The incident has been shrouded in controversy, with fresh details emerging about the circumstances surrounding his death.
According to Ruth Matete's lawyer, Robert Odanga, Pastor Belovedjohn had requested that his family not be informed about his burn injury, fearing they would worry. He had assured them he would recover, but his condition worsened.
Mr. Odanga revealed that Pastor Belovedjohn had video-called his brother within the first week of the incident, assuring him that he was on the road to recovery. However, his wounds became septic, and his kidneys started failing.
It was only after Pastor Belovedjohn's passing that his family was informed of his demise. Ruth Matete's lawyer divulged that his client had informed her husband's family that he was being treated for appendicitis, not the severe burn injuries he actually suffered.
The Nigerian High Commission in Nairobi has stopped any postmortem tests from being conducted on Pastor Belovedjohn, following allegations that Ruth Matete was a suspect in his death. The embassy has instead chosen to rely on information presented to them by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).
As the investigation into Pastor Belovedjohn's death continues, a postmortem scheduled for April 21st, 2020, will determine if there was any foul play involved.
