On April 21, 2020, the National Treasury allocated Sh. 72 million to Raila Odinga's office, a move seen as a result of his improving relationship with President Uhuru Kenyatta.
The allocation includes Sh. 10 million for employee wages, Sh. 20 million for insurance cover, and Sh. 26 million for the purchase of vehicles and transport equipment.
Raila's office will also receive Sh. 10 million for office furniture and general equipment, Sh. 4.2 million for car maintenance, and Sh. 1.5 million for fuel and lubricants.
This allocation comes after the government froze Sh. 1.5 billion in pension benefits for Raila and former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka, who earn a monthly pension of nearly Sh. 200,000 for their multiple terms as MPs.
