Published on April 21, 2020, Meghan Markle spoke about her new Disney+ film Elephant in her first Hollywood interview since quitting the royal family.
The documentary, narrated by Meghan, tells the story of a family of elephants traveling across the desert.
In a pre-recorded interview shown on Good Morning America, Meghan expressed her hope that the film will change the world for the better by encouraging viewers to take better care of each other and the planet.
She shared her personal experiences of visiting elephants in their natural habitat, including trips with her husband Prince Harry before their royal wedding.
"I'm really grateful to have this opportunity to be a part of bringing this story about elephants to life," Meghan said.
"These creatures are so majestic and yet they are so sensitive and so connected," she added.
"We see in this film how amazing they are, the close connection in the herd, the protectiveness of their young, I think they are a lot more like us than they are different," Meghan concluded.
Elephant is Meghan's first acting project since she and her husband Prince Harry decided to step down as senior royals and quit Britain for a new life in Canada.
