On April 21, 2020, Weezdom made a surprise announcement that he was leaving the gospel music industry, a move that many saw coming.
As a self-proclaimed gospel artist, Weezdom had been producing music that deviated from traditional gospel genres, sparking controversy and criticism from fans and fellow artists.
Just a week after Weezdom's announcement, Bahati's EMB Records, which had signed Weezdom, was shut down, leading many to speculate that Weezdom had been aware of the plan ahead.
Bahati cited 'too much hate and negativity' in the gospel industry as the reason for shutting down EMB and starting a new project.
When asked about Weezdom's decision to leave the gospel industry, Bahati expressed shock, saying:
“Yo My G @WEEZDOM254 Quiting Gospel Music and Choosing to be Off the Music is One of the things that Shocked me Bro! But I Understand Men make Decisions and as You take on your New Endeavors May God Lead & Guide you. Remember Our #Motto FAILING AIN’T AN OPTION 💪💪💪 #Blessings 🙏”
The comment section on Bahati's post was filled with people throwing shade at Weezdom, claiming he was never a true gospel artist.
As for Bahati's future in the music industry, it remains unclear, as he did not address his own plans in his announcement about the closure of EMB.
