Ken Walibora, a renowned Kiswahili author, will be laid to rest at his Makutano home in Cherang'any Constituency on Wednesday, April 22, 2020, amidst strict COVID-19 regulations.
According to County Commissioner Samson Ojwang', the number of mourners attending the burial will be limited to 15, as per the Ministry of Health guidelines aimed at curbing the spread of the coronavirus.
Mr. Ojwang' further restricted the number of journalists allowed at the venue to ensure compliance with the Ministry of Health's regulations.
The family has selected close relatives, friends, and neighbors to attend the burial, with Prof. Walibora's stepmother, Eunice Wafula, stating that they have put measures in place to comply with the regulations.
However, the COVID-19 situation has locked out many from paying their last respects to Prof. Walibora, as per Mrs. Wafula.
The homicide unit at the Directorate of Criminal Investigations has taken over investigations into Prof. Walibora's death, following a post-mortem that revealed he suffered stab wounds.
