On April 8, 2020, a tragic incident occurred in Pipeline Estate, Embakasi, Nairobi, where 44-year-old Catherine Mwove lost her life after allegedly being assaulted by her boyfriend, Mwanza Ukadidi Didier alias Cobe, a former backup singer for Koffi Olomide.

According to Corporal Joseph Kibet, attached to the DCI offices, Cobe is suspected of assaulting Mwove at his house in Pipeline Estate on the night of April 8, and later at her hotel in the Pipeline area the following day.

Corporal Kibet stated that the victim was found dead in her house in Syokimau on April 12, and a postmortem conducted by a government pathologist at Umash Funeral Home indicated that she died of internal bleeding due to multiple injuries in the chest, head, and ribs consistent with the assault.

Cobe is currently detained at the Embakasi Police Station, and the matter will be mentioned in court on May 4.
