Avril's Journey of Grief and Love ¶
Kenyan singer Avril has been open about her grief following the demise of her father, which led her to question every person who came into her life and lock out many of them.
During an interview on Adelle Onyango's podcast 'Legally Clueless', Avril shared her experience, stating, 'I questioned every person who came into my life claiming to love me. I locked out so many people. I think grief gives you so much. It is like a sieve because you are very conscious of anyone coming into your life and the reason they are coming into your life.'
Avril's grief helped her in equal measure as it probably tore her to bits, but it also fueled her music career. She revealed that she bore a son with the man she currently loves, Jibril Blessing, a veteran music director.
However, Avril's insecurity still reveals itself, as she questions her baby daddy's love for her. She asked, 'How does unconditional love work, how does one love without conditions? I am understanding that through the love that I have for my son.'
Avril's story serves as a reminder that we are human and we have our sad times. We try to hide our grievances, but at the end of the day, we need a shoulder to lean on.
