Heavy Rainfall Expected in Kenya in the Next Five Days

Published on April 19, 2020, the Kenya Meteorological Department has issued a warning of increased rainfall in different parts of the country over the next five days.

Nairobi and other areas such as the Lake Victoria Basin, Highlands West of Rift Valley, Central and South Rift Valley, Highlands East of the Rift Valley, and the Coast are expected to experience heavy rainfall.

Residents in these areas can expect temperatures ranging from 10 to 30 degrees Celsius, accompanied by showers and thunderstorms.

Specifically, the Lake Victoria Basin, Highlands West of the Rift Valley, Central and South Rift Valley, and the Highlands East of the Rift Valley are expected to experience heavy rainfall, with temperatures ranging from 10 to 26 degrees Celsius.

The North Eastern region, including Marsabit, Mandera, Wajir, Garissa, and Isiolo Counties, will also receive rains in various parts.

The Coastal Strip, including Mombasa, Tana River, Kilifi, Lamu, and Kwale Counties, will experience sunny intervals as well as rains.
