TV47, a relatively new television station in Kenya, has been making waves in the industry with its recent hiring spree. The station, which relaunched on February 14th, 2020, has brought on board experienced journalists and presenters to create quality programming and attract a wider audience.
Among the new faces at TV47 is Leah Ngari, a seasoned journalist with over eight years of experience in the TV industry. Ngari, who is fluent in both English and Kiswahili, hosts, produces, and handles the editorial aspect of a current affairs show called 'New Week' as well as Confessions, a show about real-life issues.
Another notable addition to the TV47 team is Diana Tarik, the station's Programme Manager. With over 15 years of experience, Tarik is a highly creative broadcast journalist who has worked at several prominent media houses, including Mediamax's K24 and Standard Media Group's KTN Home and KTN News.
TV47 has also hired Alela Jenipher Linda, a former programme host at Ebru TV, who brings with her extensive knowledge in IT and proficiency in three foreign languages. The station's young and vibrant team is led by Eugene Anangwe, the managing director, who was brought in from Rwanda Broadcasting Agency (RBA) and CNBC.
TV47 was established by Mount Kenya University founder Dr. Simon Gicharu, and it officially went on air on June 15th, 2019.
