On March 3, 2020, a tense scene unfolded outside the Milimani Law Courts as City lawyer Philip Murgor, representing murder suspect Sarah Wairimu, addressed the press.
Murgor accused DCI George Kinoti of threatening him and his wife, Justice Agnes K. Murgor, in a bid to ruin their reputation.
According to Murgor, Kinoti has been sending messages, threatening to destroy him if he continues to push for justice in the case.
One such message, sent on January 29, allegedly stated that Kinoti would ruin Murgor's reputation, as well as that of his wife and another judge, Justice Sankale Ole Kantai, if he didn't stop 'pushing him.'
Murgor called on the Director of Public Prosecution, Noordin Haji, to intervene and rein in Kinoti's behavior, citing the need for Kinoti to respect the judiciary and refrain from using social media to intimidate lawyers.
