Narok Senator Ledama Olekina has been arrested in Nairobi on Tuesday morning, February 25, 2020, over alleged hate speech at the Building Bridges Initiative rally held in Narok last Saturday.
The legislator's arrest comes after he claimed during the BBI rally that members of the Maasai community had been sidelined in positions of leadership and that non-locals had encroached Maasai-dominated areas.
He has been taken to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations headquarters for interrogation.
