January 15, 2020, marked a significant milestone for the Dusit D2 hotel in Nairobi, as it reopened its doors six months after a devastating terror attack.

The attack, which occurred on January 15, 2019, left 21 people dead and many more injured. Tragically, the 22nd victim, Noel Kidaliza, passed away almost a year later, after battling for her life at the Avenue Hospital.

She had been shot five times, with three bullets lodged in her stomach and two in her shoulder. Despite receiving medical attention, she succumbed to her injuries, a heartbreaking reminder of the severity of the attack.

The reopening of the Dusit D2 hotel is a testament to the resilience of the people involved and a symbol of hope for the city of Nairobi.
