US Pledges Support to Kenya in Fight Against Terrorism

January 15, 2020, marked a somber day in Kenya as the country commemorated the first anniversary of the DusitD2 Hotel Complex terrorist attack that left 21 people dead.

The United States, which lost a citizen in the attack, has reiterated its commitment to supporting Kenya in the fight against terrorism.

US Ambassador to Kenya Kyle McCarter made the pledge during a courtesy call on Narok Governor Samuel Ole Tunai, emphasizing the need for Kenya to sustain and win the fight against Al-Shabaab militants.

The US has committed to continuing its training and information-sharing programs with Kenya, as well as fighting side by side with the country to defeat the terrorist organization linked to Al-Qaeda.
