On a lifeguard certification course, a man named Will met a woman who would later become the subject of his clever revenge plan.
After exchanging numbers and social media details, they chatted for a few weeks before Will asked her out to see a movie, which she accepted.
However, a mutual friend who had taken the same course got in touch with Will to warn him about the woman's true intentions.
The friend shared a screenshot of messages between the woman and another man, in which she revealed her motive for dating Will: 'As long as he keeps paying for everything, I'll let him take me out more.'
Armed with this new information, Will decided to give her a taste of her own medicine.
He asked her out to a hibachi grill restaurant, where he got the most expensive thing on the menu and so did she.
They both got fancy ice cream and multiple refills on drinks, and Will complimented her a lot and smiled consistently.
However, he then got up to go to the bathroom and left, leaving her to pay the bill.
About 45 minutes later, she sent him furious texts saying that she had to have her mum come down and pay for it because she didn't have the money on her and that they were done.
Will's clever revenge plan was met with applause from many on Reddit, with one commenter saying, 'As a woman and just a person in general, she's awful for leading you on and she completely deserved this.'
