January 15, 2020, marked a significant milestone for Irene Nafula, the founder and CEO of Jax Roofing Company Ltd, as she reflected on her journey to success.
Nafula's story is one of resilience and determination, as she rose from a humble background to become one of the most successful businesswomen in the East African region.
After completing her KCSE in 2005, Nafula's first job paid her a salary of approximately Ksh 2,000. She later moved to a mtumba shop, where her salary increased to Ksh 6,000.
However, it was her 'eureka' moment that set her on the path to entrepreneurship. Nafula realized that she needed a better-paying job to raise capital for her business venture.
She devised a plan that landed her on the blacklist of a telephone service provider, but this setback did not deter her. Instead, she collected business cards and wrote to the individuals, hoping to secure a better job.
Nafula's persistence paid off when one of the 500 recipients offered her a job, where she earned Ksh 15,000 per month in 2006.
She worked diligently for four years, saving with discipline, before quitting to venture into the entrepreneurial space.
Since then, Nafula's business has experienced a meteoric rise, with an annual turnover of Ksh100 million.
When asked about her success, Nafula advised that business in a competitive field requires hard work and dedication, with no room for complacency.
However, she also revealed a 'top secret' to her success, which she shared with a friend, who then whispered it to us: Nafula uses a powerful witchdoctor who can turn one's life around in 24 hours.
Nafula recommended visiting Dr. Mugwenu, a witchdoctor who offers distance healing services, saying, 'I advise anyone with a similar problem to visit Dr. Mugwenu. Just like a medical doctor, Dr. Mugwenu does a diagnosis on his clients by asking a few questions for self-introspection in the area of one's life such as challenges in financial and physical aspects, among others.'
Nafula's story serves as an inspiration to anyone who has ever felt limited by their circumstances. She proves that with determination and hard work, anything is possible.
