On January 13, 2020, a botched robbery incident in Karati village, Naivasha, left two people fighting for their lives at the Naivasha Sub-County hospital.

A cleric and a boda boda operator suffered stomach and thigh injuries after being shot by police during the incident.

According to Naivasha OCPD Samuel Waweru, the thugs had waylaid the pastor as he entered his house at around 11pm before a family member raised an alert.

Members of the public responded to the distress call and informed security officers from the nearby Karati police post.

As the thugs were fleeing, they shot the pastor twice and managed to use two motorcycles to escape from the scene after shooting an operator in the thigh.

Police managed to shoot dead one of the thugs while the others escaped with gunshot wounds.

The gunned down suspect has been identified as a motorcycle operator, and police are closing down on his accomplices.
