On January 11, a 13-year-old girl was allegedly defiled by her 23-year-old neighbor, a barber, at his house in Embakasi, Nairobi.
The victim had run away from home after a disagreement with her mother over a mobile phone and had gone to the accused person's house, where she slept.
According to the police, the suspect had started seducing the minor during the August holidays and they had become 'friends.'
The suspect was arrested after investigations confirmed that the minor had been defiled.
He was charged before the Makadara Law Courts and denied the charges before Chief Magistrate Heston Nyaga.
The suspect was released on a bond of Sh 300, 000 and hearing dates will be fixed by the children's court.
