On Saturday, a disturbing incident occurred in Siaya, where Bishop Charles Oduor Awich of Roho Judea Church was allegedly kidnapped by two men wearing police uniform.

According to Siaya County Police Commander Francis Kooli, officers are working to trace the bishop, who was picked up from his home in Ndere, Alego.

The men, who were on a motorbike, claimed to be taking the bishop for police interrogation at the nearby Alego Ndere Police Post, but the family suspects foul play.

MCA Leonard Oriaro, speaking on behalf of the family, urged police to conduct thorough investigations into the disappearance, saying, "We want the police to ensure that he is located so as to end the family's agony."

The bishop's wife, Ms Hellen Adhiambo Oduor, also hinted at a possible connection to a land tussle with some of his relatives, saying, "We suspect he could have been kidnapped because of the ongoing land case which is still pending before a court in Siaya."
