On January 14, 2020, Khaligraph Jones made history by winning the African best Hip Hop artiste category at the Sound City MVP Awards 2020.
However, his win was met with discontent from some Nigerian artistes, who felt they had been robbed of the award.
One of the nominees, BlaqBonez, took to social media to express his dissatisfaction with the outcome, claiming that Sound City had made a mistake in declaring Khaligraph the winner.
But Khaligraph Jones was not one to take the criticism lying down. He fired back with a diss track, aimed squarely at BlaqBonez and other Nigerian artistes who had come for him.

As he rapped, "Don't ever think you can fck with Khaligraph Jones. You ain't no lyricist, you're sht is a joke. You wanted fire now you're trying to get rid of the smoke. Best rapper in Africa, I am considered the G.O.A.T. Next time, pay your lazy fans to get them to vote. I was in your hood doing research trying to get mad answers, they never had of Blaqbonez, they've only heard of Black Panther."
