On January 14, 2020, a tense scene unfolded at the Rift Valley Regional Headquarters Grounds in Nakuru, where President Uhuru Kenyatta was set to issue over 2,000 title deeds to residents.

Nakuru Town East MP David Gikaria and Nakuru Senator Susan Kihika, both allies of Deputy President William Ruto, arrived at the venue but were blocked by General Service Unit (GSU) officers at the entrance.

The officers, citing orders from above, refused to allow the politicians into the event, sparking a heated exchange between the two parties.

Speaking to the Nation, Senator Kihika expressed her shock and disappointment at the turn of events, saying, "I am utterly shocked. Why would I be barred from a function being graced by my President at my home county,"

The two politicians have vowed to give a press statement over the matter, with Mr. Gikaria set to be the host of the function, which was taking place in his constituency.
