Kenyan authorities have taken a significant step in their investigation into the disappearance of a Congolese taxi driver. On January 14, 2020, Chief Magistrate Heston Nyaga of the Makadara Law Courts issued orders compelling telecommunications firm Safaricom to share M-Pesa account details of Gasore Banganza, who went missing three weeks ago.
Banganza, a taxi driver operating in Kayole, was last seen on December 18, 2019, when his phone was used to transfer money. He was reported missing the next day, and his brother, Jackson Munini, filed a report at Kayole Police Station.
The orders, directed to a liaison officer, seek to obtain the registration details of the holder of the number that received the cash. This move is part of the ongoing investigation into Banganza's disappearance, which has left his family and friends worried.
