Published on January 14, 2020, Xiaomi's Black Shark 3 5G has been certified by the Chinese certification website MIIT, hinting at its impressive specs.

According to renders, the phone will come with a massive 16GB of RAM, surpassing the RAM capacity of some budget laptops. This would make it the first phone to support such a high amount of RAM.

Asus, Samsung, and Black Shark have previously broken the 10GB RAM barrier, with devices like the Black Shark 2, Samsung Galaxy Note Plus, and ROG phone 2 offering up to 12GB of RAM.

With a history of releasing phones with high RAM capacities, it's likely that the Black Shark 3 will indeed feature 16GB of RAM, making it a potential gaming powerhouse.

Tipster Sudhanshu notes that the phone could be the world's first phone with 16GB of RAM, giving Xiaomi bragging rights in the gaming smartphone market.

The Black Shark 3 5G is expected to be the successor to the Black Shark 2 Pro, which launched with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Plus chipset and a 4,000mAh battery. Reports suggest that the new phone could pack a similar 4,000mAh battery.

While there's no official word on other features, speculations suggest that the phone might sport a 6.39-inch TrueView full HD+ Pressure-Sensitive AMOLED display and a dual-camera setup with a 48-megapixel primary lens and a 13-megapixel telephoto lens.
