On January 14, 2020, a heartwarming story emerged from Migori, showcasing the determination of a young boy named Levis Otieno. Despite his family's financial struggles, Levis had scored 390 marks in the 2019 KCPE exams, securing a spot at Kanga High School.
However, his poor family could not afford to pay his fees or school uniform, leaving Levis to report to school with only a metal box and two bars of soap. His mother had attempted to secure a bursary from the CDF but was denied, forcing her to accompany her son to school with an empty metal box.
Levis's story touched the hearts of Kenyans, who were warmed by his determination to join school despite his poor state. Well-wishers have since been contributing towards helping the young boy achieve his dreams.
Weekly Citizen wishes to thank all those who have been blessed to bless Levis's dreams and aspirations. Your contribution, no matter how big or little it is, will multiply in God's name.
