Samsung Acquires Network Services Provider TeleWorld Solutions

January 14, 2020

Samsung has completed an agreement to acquire TeleWorld Solutions (TWS), a leading provider of network design, testing, and optimization services to mobile service and cable operators in the US.

The acquisition will enable Samsung to meet the growing needs of mobile carriers for improving their 4G and 5G networks, said Paul Kyungwhoon Cheun, Executive Vice President and Head of Networks Business at Samsung Electronics.

“The acquisition of TWS will enable us to meet mobile carriers’ growing needs for improving their 4G and 5G networks, and eventually create new opportunities to enhance our service capabilities to our customers,” said Paul Kyungwhoon Cheun.

Shervin Gerami, CEO of TeleWorld Solutions, added that working with Samsung will help address the new 5G reality, including network virtualization initiatives and the demand for network infrastructure, design, deployment, and optimization services.

With a strong presence in the US for over 40 years, Samsung has invested more than $30 billion and currently employs over 20,000 workers across the country.
