On January 14, 2020, Gor Mahia made a significant move in the Kenyan Premier League by signing Clinton Okoth, a 19-year-old striker from National Super League side Migori Youth.
Okoth, who has been with Migori Youth since he was 13, has been making waves in the second-tier league with 14 goals to his name, making him the leading scorer.
Several clubs, including KCB, Kariobangi Sharks, Tusker, and AFC Leopards, were vying for his signature, but Gor Mahia secured him on a one-year loan deal.
According to Migori Youth Chairman Aziz Okaka, Okoth's development has been impressive, and it's time for him to take his game to the next level. 'He has been at the club since he was 13 years and his development has been amazing. He has done well and it is time for him to take his game to the next level. As a team, our target has always been to nurture talent and we are happy when our boys get life-changing opportunities,' Okaka told Nairobi News.
