On 24 July 2019, Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko stunned Kenyans after sharing a video clip of Tanzanian President Pombe Magufuli's conversation with President Uhuru Kenyatta on speakerphone.
Magufuli had called President Kenyatta after Foreign Affairs CS Monica Juma successfully delivered a gold consignment on his behalf.
Excited by Magufuli's move, Sonko shared the video clip and captioned it with a message to insinuate that Magufuli and himself possessed similar traits.
Delighted Kenyans who have since camped on the governor's Facebook comments section expressed their agreement with his statement while praising him for being transparent while handling county issues.
Majority of the comments praised Sonko's performance, arguing that it was not different from that of the respected Tanzanian President.
