On January 13, 2020, a heartwarming story emerged of a form one student who reported to school with an empty box, despite having been admitted to Kanga High school in Rongo constituency, Migori County.

The student, who sat his Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) in 2019, was expected to bring essential items for his new school life. However, his poor parents could not afford the financial requirements necessary for admission.

As a result, the student arrived at school with only two bar soaps in his box, leaving many to wonder how he would cope with the challenges of secondary school.

Fortunately, the story of the student's plight did not go unnoticed, and soon, netizens began to pledge their support to help the boy from a disadvantaged background.
