Residents of Nairobi and other major towns in Kenya are bracing for surprise morning rains, with the Kenya Meteorological Department warning of continued rainfall in the region.
According to the department, Nairobi, Mombasa, and Kisumu cities, as well as major towns, will experience rainfall today.
As reported by the Kenya Meteorological Department on Twitter on January 12, 2020, residents are advised to allow extra time for travel and to carry an umbrella and coat.
The department's weather update also included an infographic detailing the locations in the country set to experience light and heavy rainfall, including Kisumu, Kitale, Kisii, Nakuru, Narok, Nairobi, Nyeri, Meru, Isiolo, Kitui, Garissa, Voi, Mombasa, Malindi, Lamu, Makindu, Wajir, Mandera, Moyale, Eldoret, Lodwar, Lokichogio, Samburu, and Marsabit.
