On January 13, 2020, a dramatic scene unfolded in Nairobi's Central Business District when a middle-aged man attempted to take his own life by climbing a traffic light post at the junction of Kimathi Street and Kenyatta Avenue.

As he tied a thin rope around his neck, a large crowd gathered to watch the unfolding drama. The man, who repeatedly referred to himself as Jesus, threatened to jump, prompting onlookers to urge him to reconsider.

However, he jumped down, landing safely on the ground without the rope. The crowd's reaction turned from shock to anger as they demanded to know why he had attempted to take his own life.

Police officers arrived at the scene, but the man, who appeared uninjured, resisted their attempts to rescue him. He wrestled with the officers, who were aided by some members of the public, before being subdued and handcuffed.
