On January 13, 2020, a devastating attack by Al-Shabaab militants shook the town of Kamuthe in Garissa county, Kenya. The attack occurred at around 2am, leaving a trail of destruction and loss of life.
According to reports, the militants targeted the Kamuthe Resource Centre, where they killed three male teachers. A child, who was hit by a stray bullet, was the only student injured in the attack.
What's more disturbing is that the female teachers and nurses at the institution were reportedly spared after being identified by the suspected militants.
As the police pursue the attackers, it's worth noting that this is not the first time Al-Shabaab has carried out such attacks. Last week, they attacked a military camp in Lamu, resulting in the deaths of 3 Americans.
